FLOOR360 contributed tile and installation for this kitchen backsplash with handmade tile inside a home built by Ideation Builders for the Spring 2023 Madison Area Builders Association Parade of Homes. The tile color is graphite and grey with a matte finish that feels and looks like individual pieces of art pottery. A distinct surface texture that varies from tile to tile is a popular current interior design trend, giving an overall nature-inspired warm feel to the room. All photos by Shanna Wolf Photography
cad drawing for tile installation
The tile installation for this showstopping backsplash was carefully planned and laid out in advance by FLOOR360 CAD drawing specialists. The design layout was determined to be three small rectangle tiles with geometric patterns installed vertically next to a single square graphite color tile. It was important to place each tile precisely to create the desired result. The combination of expert guidance from our interior designer, CAD drawing and FLOOR360’s installation team ensured accuracy and prevented material waste.
Nature inspired design trend
The interior design trend that incorporates textures and elements made from nature-inspired materials like wood, clay, marble, plant life, wool, or stone started a few years ago and continues to expand. Sometimes called biophilic design it uses nature as inspiration for the home’s color pallete, surface and furniture materials, architectural shapes, decor patterns and lighting. Adding these elements in rooms positively influences mood, while adding a sense of comfort and warmth.
