News: Design for a Difference Milwaukee Makeover Completed

MILWAUKEE, WI (May 21, 2024) – FLOOR360, provider of high-fashion flooring and designs announced that a Design for a Difference makeover was completed at the Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps (ARCh), in Waukesha, WI. During March and April, an all-volunteer group of interior designers worked with several local businesses, suppliers, installers, painters, and other volunteers to plan and provide a much-needed interior design makeover for the non-profit. The value of the makeover was over $59,000 which included almost 3,800 total sq ft of flooring donations.

“The ARCh facility was dark, out of date and not optimized for people with mobility, sight, and sensory issues,” said Executive Director of ARCh, Jennifer Horth. “Now there are newly created spaces for soothing over-stimulation, wayfinding signs with braille, and a new lighter and accessible feeling that is felt all over the building.”

“FLOOR360 is grateful for the community support and partner donations that made this makeover possible,” says Ryan Koechel, president FLOOR360. “We hope this makeover draws more attention to the ARCh organization and empowers their team to pursue all the possibilities now open to them.”

project volunteers

A team of interior designer volunteers managed the project. The team was led by FLOOR360 Kashou Design Studio manager Kelly Kuehn with FLOOR360 interior designers Julie Taylor and Peg Hemzacek, Ayanna Govan and Tiffany Brook – AG Interiors LLC, Karen Johnson – Karen Lee Johnson Interiors, and Margaret Nedow – LaMacchia Group. The list of flooring donations for ARCh includes 213 sq ft of carpet tile from Shaw Floors, walkoff carpet from Tarkett valued at $4000, the Tarkett wall base provided by Jaeckle Distributors is valued at $2400.  Sherwin-Willimas generously donated over $8700 in paint. These generous donations were added to $7300 in furniture donated by OFR, with more donated in floor installation, paint labor, demolition labor, Amazon wish list items and so much more.
