Transform any space beautifully, easily, and instantly with heirloom-quality area rugs, custom area rugs and stair runners from FLOOR360. Schedule a showroom appointment by filling out the form on this page and select a carpet style like the Antrim hand-loomed carpets and rugs from Stanton in the Horizon style. We can then set the size, shape, finishing, and backing based on what is best for your room. You will be surprised how affordable this custom look can be. Here are some of the custom rug options you can choose from to make your home as unique as you are:
Choose from finishes that are discreet and low profile with a refined look. There’s also options that are more substantial and prominent with a finished edge.
rug backing options
Choose the backing that’s right for your style and environment. The right backing increases the life of the rug, prevents scratched floors, eliminates potential curling and makes the rug soft underfoot.
binding options
Choose from a number of binding options in a variety of textures, colors and patterns.
Made in Our Milwaukee Workroom
Jim is a highly trained rug fabricator, and FLOOR360 has provided him with the equipment and supplies he needs to cut the rugs and create the finishes to your specifications. Our in-house local rug fabrication will bind or serge your carpet in hundreds of options and provide it quickly and at a great value.
Because the work happens in-house, Jim can make area rugs in custom sizes and shapes and fabricate stair runners from the same carpets, so your rugs and runners can coordinate from room to room. Every edge is bound or serged to the finish you choose.
Custom Stair Runners
A stair runner adds softness, quiet and style to a staircase while showing off the wood on either side. Our installer, Jesse, is a true craftsman who works with our workroom to fit runners on straight stairs, landings and many other staircase layouts.
How a Custom Stair Runner Comes Together
- Measure. We measure each tread, riser and landing, along with the width you want to leave exposed on each side.
- Choose carpet and binding. Pick a carpet style and a binding or serged edge in our showroom. Durable, dense styles such as sisal-look and wool are popular for stairs.
- Fabricate. Jim cuts and finishes the runner in our Milwaukee workroom to your staircase’s measurements.
- Install. Jesse typically places a pad on each tread, then secures the runner tread by tread and riser by riser so it stays straight and snug. Landings are fitted as their own pieces or turns as needed, and the ends are finished neatly at the top and bottom. Exact methods depend on your stairs and runner.

Custom Area Rug and Stair Runner FAQ
Can FLOOR360 make a custom area rug in any size or shape?
Yes. Our carpet fabricator, Jim, cuts and finishes custom area rugs in our Milwaukee workroom, so we can size and shape a rug to your room, including rectangles, rounds, ovals and other shapes. Choose your carpet, finish, binding and backing, and we build it to your specifications.
What carpet works best for a stair runner?
Stairs take heavy foot traffic, so dense, durable carpets such as tight loops, wool and sisal-look styles are popular choices. Our designers can help you weigh texture, pattern and cleanability for your home and household.
How is a stair runner installed?
We measure your staircase, fabricate and bind the runner in our Milwaukee workroom, then our installer typically fits a pad on each tread and secures the runner tread by tread and riser by riser, working around landings and finishing the ends neatly. Exact methods depend on your stairs and the runner you choose.
