FLOOR360 COMPLETES DESIGN FOR A DIFFERENCE MAKEOVERS INSIDE
MADISON AND MILWAUKEE NON-PROFIT FACILITIES
MADISON, WI (October 26, 2022) – FLOOR360, provider of high-fashion flooring and designs announced that Design for a Difference makeovers were completed at Common Threads Family Resource Center, Madison, WI and Grand Avenue Club Milwaukee, WI. Since June, an all-volunteer group of interior designers have worked with several local businesses, suppliers, installers, painters, and other volunteers to plan and provide a much-needed interior design makeover both non-profits. The combined value of both makeovers was over $650,000 which included almost 9,000 sq ft of flooring donations.
The size of the Common Threads Family Resource Center flooring donation was 6,300 sq ft of Adore – Naturelle Plus luxury vinyl plank provided by Jaeckle Distributors. Shaw and Shaw Contract donated carpeting for area rugs. The donation for Grand Avenue Club flooring was 2,500 sq ft of Mannington luxury vinyl plank from FLOOR360. Another donation included Shaw Contract carpet tile for a meeting room inside. These generous donations were added to installation, paint, painters, furniture, interior design, demolition, Amazon wish list items and so much more.
Common Threads Family Resource Center empowers young individuals with autism, mental health, and sensory differences by providing meaningful support to them and their families. Grand Avenue Club provides adults who have experienced mental illness with pre-vocational training, paid employment opportunities, supported education and enriching programming. Each organization was selected by a committee of experts in Madison and Milwaukee in May after reviewing nominations from the community.
There are five phases in the 2022 Design for a Difference makeover process:
- Collect nominations – February through April
- Announce recipients – May
- Design team planning – June
- Designing and procuring elements – July through August
- Demolition, painting, installation – September and October
FLOOR360 Design for a Difference makeovers have relied 100% on donations from the Madison and Milwaukee communities since 2015. FLOOR360 coordinates the services of local interior designers and business partners to help a local non-profit make over their space so they can focus on their programs, services and mission. To date, cumulatively, there have been over 500 Madison and Milwaukee volunteers and businesses involved, over 2.5 million dollars in labor and materials donated, and over 40,000 individuals impacted.
