The FLOOR360 Installation of the Month is this nature-inspired wet room inside a primary bathroom. These will continue to be popular well into 2022. Wet rooms are glass enclosed spaces that contain both shower heads and a full bathtub, with a floor that’s sloped towards a drain. The materials used follow the biophilic design style that strives to bring the outside elements inside. Nature inspired wood-look tile planks and large format marble tiles were installed on the walls. The floor incorporated both wood looks and the marble in a hexagon pattern. This wet room inside a residence built by Hart DeNoble Builders that appeared the Madison Area Builders Association Parade of Homes demonstrates the style perfectly. The interior design team on the project was DesignWell Interiors.
“I collaborated with the luxury custom home builder and interior designers to source the perfect materials to create a nature-inspired bathroom sanctuary.” –Autumn Stankovsky, FLOOR360 interior designer.
Essential Wet Room Elements
Essential to the to planning and installation of a wet room is the use of CAD drawings to ensure accuracy to the design plan. Since most wet rooms use niches and benches, a CAD drawing is essential. Also important for any shower in the home is the Schluter System underlayment that comes with a lifetime warranty against leaks and damages. Feel free to style a space like this with accessories like real or faux plants to complete the look.
